Jonathan Majors and his defense team released a statement after the Loki star was found guilty of two misdemeanor charges of domestic violence on Monday, saying that the actor “still has faith in the process and looks forward to fully clearing his name.”
The Manhattan jury found Majors guilty of reckless assault in the third degree and harassment. He was acquitted of intentional assault in the third degree and aggravated harassment in the second degree. Sentencing is now set for February 6.
The Defense Team Responds
Following the guilty verdict, Majors’ defense team released a statement.
“It is clear that the jury did not believe Grace Jabbari’s story of what happened in the SUV because they found that Mr. Majors did not intentionally cause any injuries to her. We are grateful for that,” a statement provided by Majory’s attorney Piyra Chaudhry read.
“We are disappointed, however, that despite not believing Ms. Jabbari, the jury nevertheless found that Mr. Majors was somehow reckless while she was attacking him,” the statement said.
Majors “Still Has Faith in the Process”
Despite the guilty verdict, the embattled actor’s attorneys say that Majors is looking forward to clearing his name.
“Mr. Majors is grateful to God, his family, his friends, and his fans for their love and support during these harrowing eight months,” they said. “Mr. Majors still has faith in the process and looks forward to fully clearing his name.”
Following the news that Majors had been found guilty, the actor was quickly dropped from the MCU. If Majors is going to rehabilitate his image, he has a long way to go.
