From fighting the Supernatural, to fighting Supes, to fighting robots.
With the release of Atomic Heart by Mundfish only days away, Focus Features has released a new trailer to tease the game’s release, and it definitely did the job, it got even non gamers excited for Atomic Heart, and why is that? Jensen Ackles. Jensen portrays the character Major Sergei Nechaev from the game. We get to see an unhinged and completely off the rails performance from Ackles for this project.
Atomic Heart is an upcoming FPS action role-playing video game developed by Mundfish and published by Focus Entertainment. Atomic Heart takes place in Facility 3826, the Soviet Union’s foremost scientific research hub in an alternate 1955. In the 1930s, scientist Dmitry Sechenov develops a liquidized programmable module called the Polymer, sparking massive technological breakthroughs that include a networked artificial intelligence called the “Kollektiv” linking robots together. The main protagonist in the game portrayed by Ackles in the trailer is a mentally unstable officer on special assignments named Major Sergei Nechaev, nicknamed P-3. He is challenged with combating robots that went haywire, failed biomechanical experiments and his own, ever-deteriorating mental state.
The teaser sees Supernatural star Jensen Ackles star Jensen Ackles wreaking havoc on different targets using weapons he has put together the way the character he represents in the game does. The combat in the game consists of shooting and slashing with improvised weapons. A wide variety of enemies may be mechanical, biomechanical, biological. There is a crafting system where the weapons can be pieced together from metal parts that can be detached from robots or taken from household appliances. One of the most popular weapons we see Ackles use in the trailer is the Polymer Glove, which grants him powers such as telekinesis, freezing, and electricity to defeat his enemies.
We also see a slight bit of shade thrown at Hogwarts Legacy at the start of the teaser. Which will be one of the games biggest competitors. When a little girl dressed like a Witch tried to defeat a robot with magic, but fails, until Jensen steps in.
All we can say after this is. Someone make this into a movie.
Atomic Heart will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC on February 21, 2023.
