When the Friends theme song said “I’ll be there for you,” it was talking about Adam Sandler being there for Jennifer Aniston. The Morning Show star just revealed that every year on Mother’s Day, Sandler and his wife Jackie send her flowers, and I’m not crying, I just…I think a neighbor is chopping onions?
Sharing this tidbit with The Wall Street Journal might just seem funny, until you know the backstory. Besides her dogs, Jennifer Aniston doesn’t have any children but at one point in her life was trying hard to get pregnant, she revealed last year. She doesn’t quite spell out how this floral tradition started, but we can put two and two together: Aniston has been close with the Sandlers for decades, and at some point opened up to them about her desire to become a mom, so they began including her in their Mother’s Day celebration through this sweet, simple gesture. Don’t tell the Happy Gilmore fans, but Adam Sandler might be a straight-up sweetheart?
This isn’t the first time Aniston has opened up about her friendship with her Just Go With It costar. When Jimmy Fallon asked if they ever swapped advice, Aniston revealed, “If I get anything from him, it’s ‘What are you doing?’ Usually based on someone I’m dating: ‘What are you doing? What’s wrong with you?’”
She also talked about what Sandler is like on set, saying, “He’s so concerned with taking care of everybody else, which he really does, and he doesn’t take care of himself…. I’m sorry to call you out on national television, Adam, but you have to know this.” Never beating the softy allegations!
