The Festival of Cinema NYC will be held August 4-13, 2023 at the UA Midway Theater in New York.
“We’re honoured that Forensic Psychologist has made the Official Selection at the Festival of Cinema NYC,” said Tong. “Our intent has always been to export local talent to an international audience and showcase the next generation of Hong Kong actors in a series which explores the cross section between mental health and criminal behaviour. I can think of no better way than to hold the first screening of this ground-breaking series across the world in New York in front of filmmakers I greatly respect.”
Festival Director Jayson Simba said: “Forensic Psychologist brings a fresh perspective to the crime genre, and we are honored to premiere it on our screens, showcasing the innovation and creativity from the best international filmmakers around the world, including the immense talent from Hong Kong today.”
Tong’s upcoming slate includes a Hong Kong remake of Richard Linklater’s Tape, starring Kenny Kwan, Selena Lee and Adam Pak, and UK horror comedy Murder Ballads, directed by Mitchell Tolliday. Both projects recently completed post-production.
