Jana Nayagan producer attended Vijay’s oath ceremony and shared that the film will release after receiving CBFC clearance.

Jana Nayagan is Thalapathy Vijay’s last movie.
Vijay is riding high on his political achievement. The Tamil superstar has now become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and took the oath at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium on Sunday (May 10). While his political career is already at its peak, his last film, Jana Nayagan, still awaits CBFC clarification to see the light of the day.
Jana Nayagan’s producers were present at the oath ceremony, where they spoke about the fate of the film. Speaking to reporters, K. Venkat Narayana said, “We are waiting for the CBFC certificate. As soon as we get the certificate, we will release it. We are very happy. Congratulations to Vijay sir for becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. A new chapter begins. Sir, I am sure, will fulfill all the promises. Jana Nayagan will release as soon as we get the certificate.”
Following the result declaration, KVN Productions, the banner which helmed Jana Nayagan, had congratulated the actor. The statement read, “Heartiest congratulations to our ‘Jana Nayagan’, Thalapathy Vijay sir, on scripting history today against all odds. It is indeed a revolution and one that will echo for generations to come.”
More about Jana Nayagan
The film features a strong ensemble cast alongside Vijay, including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Prakash Raj, Narain, and Priyamani, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Backed by KVN Productions, the project combines a large-scale cinematic setup with a narrative that leans heavily into political drama, making it both a commercial entertainer and a thematic extension of Vijay’s evolving public image.
Originally planned for a Pongal 2026 release, Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan has faced multiple delays due to a combination of censor concerns and its overlap with the Tamil Nadu Assembly election timeline. Reports have suggested revised release windows, including May 2026, but the final release date is yet to be officially confirmed. The timing of the film has become a talking point in itself, as its subject and messaging align with Vijay’s real-life political debut through his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.
