Dancing With the Stars has named a third member of its celebrity cast for the upcoming season.
Jamie Lynn Spears has joined the show for its 32nd installment, which is returning to ABC after two years as a Disney+ exclusive (it will still simulcast on the streamer). Spears will dance alongside Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix and The Bachelorette’s Charity Lawson; the rest of the celebrity cast and their professional partners is set to be announced Wednesday.
Spears’ casting on DWTS continues a busy year for the actress and singer, the younger sister of Britney Spears. She was part of the inaugural season of Fox’s survival series Special Forces earlier in the year and starred in Zoey 102, a movie sequel to her early 2000s Nickelodeon series Zoey 101 that premiered on Paramount+ in July. She’s also a regular on Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias, whose third season also bowed in July.
ABC has also made a schedule change for Dancing With the Stars: After initially setting it for Monday nights, the network is shifting it to Tuesdays. The season will open with an extended, 2 1/2-hour premiere on Sept. 26 (followed by a 30-minute, DWTS-centric episode of Celebrity Family Feud) before settling into its usual two-hour running time the following week. Game show Press Your Luck, which was part of an earlier schedule shuffle at the network, is back on the schedule and set for 10 p.m. Tuesdays starting Oct. 10.
The move of Dancing With the Stars to Tuesday now leaves Monday nights open for ABC. The network has Monday Night Football games in each of the next two weeks and will announce its regular slate soon.
