While Britney Spears is dancing on Instagram, her sister is bringing her moves to the ballroom. Jamie Lynn Spears is set to compete on Season 32 of “Dancing With the Stars” with partner Alan Bersten.
The actress, who starred in Paramount+’s “Zoey 102” movie and Season 3 of Netflix’s “Sweet Magnolias” this year, joins the previously announced celebrities competing, “Vanderpump Rules” star Ariana Madix and “The Bachelorette” lead Charity Lawson. The full cast will be announced on Wednesday.
“I have this unique opportunity where I was offered a chance to work when my community cannot work,” Spears said on “GMA.” “I figured I’ll do this and I will donate my weekly salary to SAG, WGA and just give back to them at a time where they can’t even give to themselves.”
In addition to her own career, Spears has made headlines through the years because of her up and down relationship with her sister.
“I have nothing but absolute love for every single one of my family members. If I learned anything from last year, being so open and feeling like I had to defend myself at times, I don’t feel like there’s anything else that I need to say,” she told Variety in an interview in June. “I just have to leave it where it is because those conversations are meant to be personal. All I can focus on now is my girls, my husband and the work that I’m doing.”
“Dancing with the Stars,” produced by BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions, streamed last season on Disney+. This year, it will move back to ABC. Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough will co-host, with Hough replacing Tyra Banks. The judges table is comprised of Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough.
“Dancing with the Stars” returns to ABC on Tuesday, Sept. 28 with an expanded season 32 premiere. It will air on Tuesdays throughout the season and will simulcast live on Disney+ and be available to stream the next day on Hulu.
