Although the writers of the film and television industry have reached an agreement with the major studios, the SAG-AFTRA strike continues, which is still affecting a large part of the most anticipated releases for the coming years from some of the most important companies and franchises. The eighth installment of Mission: Impossible and the long-awaited prequel to the A Quiet Place universe are the new victims of the conflict.
After the disappointing theatrical run of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, Paramount Pictures wants to make sure that the new adventure of Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt exceeds expectations. The Hollywood Reporter confirms that the film, which was scheduled to debut on June 28, 2024, will now premiere on May 23, 2025, and is also expected to drop its previous title of Dead Reckoning Part 2. This leaves Dead Reckoning Part 1 in a strange position, so expect an amendment to that title’s appearances in future.
