Despite the failure of The Marvels at the box office, Iman Vellani continues to be one of the brightest stars in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Vellani burst onto the scene as Kamala Khan in the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel before taking her story to another level in The Marvels.

While a second season of Ms. Marvel has yet to be announced, the MCU actress and Marvel superfan is already thinking about who she would like to see Kamala go up against next.
Enter Doc.X?
In an interview with The Direct, Vellani named Doc.X as a potential villain who would “really resonate with the Gen Z audience”.
If you are not an ardent Marvel Comics reader, you likely have not heard of Doc.X.

The villain appears in the Ms. Marvel comic series as an artificial intelligence and sentient computer virus who comes into contact with the young hero through her online gaming. Eventually, the villain is able to blackmail Ms. Marvel into doing what it wants.
“Definitely Doc.X. I think that’s a great villain from the comics and can really resonate with the Gen Z audience. It would be so interesting—I don’t know, messing with kids’ psyche almost when you have this villain who only exists on your phone, and on your laptops, and on all your screens that we can’t avoid,” Vellani explains.

“I think it’d be really interesting position to put them all in to fight against something that you can’t even see, right? Yeah. Yeah, that’s one of my favorite comic storylines. So I would love to see that play out.”
Marvel Should Heed Vellani’s Advice
If Marvel Studios wants to continue to develop Ms. Marvel as a street-level hero, Doc.X would be the perfect villain to introduce.
The unknown nature of the character would allow Marvel to organically introduce the villain into the Ms. Marvel story without necessitating the formation of a larger team like the Young Avengers.

While a second season of Ms. Marvel remains hypothetical at this time, Marvel Studios could do a lot worse than to listen to their young star. Hopefully, we will get to see more of Kamala Khan soon.
