There’s Marvel heroes, DC heroes and then there’s Koala Man, the hero from Down Under.
The brand new Hulu original animated series “Koala Man” follows the bizarre adventures of middle-aged dad Kevin and his not so secret identity, Koala Man. Starring Michael Cusack as Kevin, Academy Award winner Hugh Jackman stars as Kevin’s boss Big Greg, who ends up supporting his employee on his superhero ventures. Apart from Koala Man Jackman has previously voiced roles in animated series like “Big Mouth,” “Human Resources,” “The Simpsons” and the film “Missing Link.” The film also stars Sarah Snook, Jemaine Clement, Demi Lardner, Alexandra Daddario as well as Rachel House, Angus Sampson, and the legendary Hugo Weaving.
Kevin’s only superpower is a burning passion for following rules and snuffing out petty crime in the town of Dapto. Though it may seem like any other Australian suburb, forces of evil both cosmic and man-made lie in wait to pounce on unsuspecting Daptonians. On a quest to clean up his hometown, and often roping his frustrated family into his adventures, Koala Man stands at the ready. He’ll do whatever it takes to defeat villainous masterminds, supernatural horrors, or worse: jerks who don’t take their rubbish bins down on the proper days.
The trailer gives us a look at the hilarious encounters between Koala Man and his so called enemies and we are in for some trippy adventures.
“Koala Man” comes from the mind of Aussie creator/animator Michael Cusack (“YOLO: Crystal Fantasy,” “Smiling Friends”) who also voices the titular hero. The show is Executive Produced by the co-creator of “Ricky and Morty”, Justin Roiland and the writers of “Pokemon: Detective Pikachu” Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit. Michael Cowap also serves as executive producer.
