How to Watch The Golden Bachelor Online for Free Without Cable – The Hollywood Reporter

ABC’s popular dating franchise is entering its sunset years with The Golden Bachelor. Premiering Sept. 28, the Bachelor Nation’s highly-anticipated senior dating spinoff will follow 72-year-old widower Gerry Turner in his quest for love.

Bachelor alum Jesse Palmer will host the new series, which will follow the same format as The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. The Golden Bachelor‘s 22 contestants are “accomplished golden ladies” between 60 to 75 years old who will “take time away from their established home lives, friends and family in the quest to rediscover love,” says ABC. Among them is Patty James, the mother of Matt James from The Bachelor season 25.

The retired restaurateur was previously married for 43 years to his school sweetheart, Toni, who passed away suddenly in 2017 from a bacterial infection. In his primetime TV debut during The Bachelorette‘s season 20 reunion show, Turner explained that his expectations are different this time around: “What I look for at the age of 70 is different from what I looked for in high school and college. I believe I’ll find my person — the new person that will make me whole again. And I think we’ll knit a wonderful relationship. But I don’t think it’ll look like the relationship I had with Toni. And I don’t think it would be right to do it that way.”

To celebrate the new series, ABC is staging golden takeovers in Los Angeles and New York. Today through Oct. 1, L.A. seniors can get Golden Hour discounts from 5 to 7 p.m. at iconic spots including Mel’s Drive-In on Sunset (Sept. 22-24), and Randy’s Donuts and Pink’s Hot Dogs (Sept. 25-Oct. 1), which will also offer limited-edition treats, giveaways and photo ops. This weekend, Golden food trucks will be parked in L.A. and NYC. On the West Coast, find it on Friday at Ovation Hollywood, Mel’s Drive-In on Sunset, The Grove and Pan-Pacific Park; Saturday at Santa Monica Pier and in Venice at Hotel Erwin and The Brig on Abbot Kinney; and Sunday at Melrose Trading Post and Canter’s Deli on Fairfax. In the Big Apple, visit it Friday at Bryant Park and Madison Square Park; Saturday at Union Square and Sunday in the Meatpacking District and FiDi.

Those not in L.A. or NYC can also earn “golden discounts” at select online retailers and Disney-owned brands for a limited time, including at 1-800-Flowers.com (save 40 percent off two dozen roses with a vase on Sept. 28), Dylan’s Candy Bar (get 25 percent off full-priced purchases with code GOLDEN) and Fandango (save $5 off a movie ticket from Sept. 28-Oct. 1); get more details here.
