The 74th Annual Emmy Awards airs tonight to celebrate the best and the brightest in television.
SNL star Kenan Thompson will host the ceremony live tonight on NBC at 8 p.m. EST. The Live from E! red carpet coverage, hosted by Laverne Cox (Orange is The New Black), begins at 6 p.m. EST. Several streaming series in both the dramatic and comedy categories will vie for the coveted golden statuettes. The Apple TV+ sports comedy series Ted Lasso is in the running with 20 nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series. There are also acting nominations for lead actor Jason Sudeikis; Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple for Outstanding Supporting Actress; and Brett Goldstein for Outstanding Supporting Actor.
HBO and its streaming platform HBO Max lead the pack with 130 nominations for programs that include The White Lotus, Succession, Hacks, Euphoria and Barry.
Stranger Things garnered 13 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, but no acting, writing or directing nods. Its 12 other nominations were in the technical categories like makeup, production design, editing and stunt work.
Hulu received 58 nominations, including 17 for the murder mystery comedy Only Murders In The Building and 14 for the limited series Dopesick, starring Michael Keaton and Rosario Dawson.
