The Sims 4 Horse Ranch Expansion Pack brings with it the beautiful world of Chestnut Ridge, which holds many secrets for players to discover. Alongside the main lots in the red rock-inspired world lies a secret cave, which can be tricky to find if you don’t know where to look. Though it’s a rabbit hole, the special area holds unique rewards for Sims that make it worth visiting.
Secret discoveries have always been a big part of The Sims franchise, and the latest installment is no different. Though not as immersive as the fully-developed hidden worlds in The Sims 4, there’s been a recent trend in DLC to include special areas that players can explore via text-based minigames. Horse Ranch offers a new take on this, introducing turn-based combat as Sims explore Dreadhorse Caverns.
Where To Find The Sims 4 Horse Ranch Secret Cave
To find the Dreadhorse Caverns, Sims will need to travel to the Galloping Gulch neighborhood; any of the three lots there will suffice, though Gooseman’s residence is closest. From here, players should locate the bridge made of rock on the far south end of the map, then look at the area beneath it.
When viewing the area from Gooseman’s residence, the cave entrance is below and to the right of this bridge, against a rock face and covered by two trees. Players can then click the entrance and select Explore Dreadhorse Caverns to begin their journey.
The Sims 4 Horse Ranch Secret Cave Combat & Rewards Explained
From here, progression is similar to exploring the tunnels in The Sims 4 Werewolves Game Pack, but with the addition of turn-based combat. Players will encounter enemies like spiders, bears, and bats at varying levels and choose between offensive or defensive moves, the latter of which serve as healing.
Both enemies and Sims have a set amount of health, and Sims can encounter certain events that will kick them out of the cave for the day or puzzles for which they’ll need to bring special items to pass through.
Traversing the Dreadhorse Caverns in The Sims 4 Horse Ranch can be quite beneficial for ranchers. As Sims progress they’ll find treasure chests and other random bits of rewards that range from Simoleons to rare plants and items. Though it can be a bit dangerous, with Sims almost always exiting with a Dazed Moodlet, the secret cave in The Sims 4 Horse Ranch is certainly worth finding.
