Demonologist hides an Easter Egg to the iconic horror game series Silent Hill, which players can activate on the Hospital map by saying a unique word.
The Hospital map of Demonologist holds an Easter Egg that players have a chance to activate that references the iconic horror series Silent Hill. No doubt a heavy inspiration for many terrifying titles, the game’s developers have been quiet regarding this hidden nod specifically to Silent Hill 4: The Room. Players that find a special yet creepy spot on this map are in for a shocking discovery that may take them back to the events of a mysterious town.
Before even searching, players can’t find this Easter Egg without unlocking the Hospital map first. Out of the three maps in Demonologist, including the Abandoned House and Cyclone Street, the Hospital may only be visited when players reach level 10. This can take quite a while to reach, so players are recommended to complete all objectives when in a match to earn the most XP, such as finding cursed items.
How to Find the Silent Hill Easter Egg
The easiest way to find the Easter Egg is to explore all the bathrooms in the Hospital until finding one with a huge hole in the wall. The hole will be surrounded by demonic symbols referencing the Halo of the Sun. This Halo is the direct symbol of The Order, a cult within Silent Hill 4 whose markings represent different religions and who are directly involved with the events of that game.
How to Activate the Hospital Hole
Like most secrets seen in Demonologist‘s Starting Hubs, the Hospital Hole’s reference must be activated from players speaking a specific word into their microphone. Standing in front of the hole in the wall and saying “Room” plays a quick jump scare as the Easter Egg. The creature that emerges from this spot resembles one of the supernatural enemies that Henry Townshend, the protagonist of Silent Hill 4, had to face.
Players have to say the word “Room” in front of the hole in one of the bathrooms on the Hospital map to activate the Silent Hill Easter Egg.
Thankfully, unlike whatever ghost players are hunting at the Hospital, this creature does not attack and instead serves as an unexpected scare. There are no other monsters from Silent Hill lurking around the other two maps, but other hidden scares and achievements are waiting to be explored. Once players learn how to activate the Silent Hill Easter Egg in Demonologist, they might have a better idea of how to unravel other secrets.
