How The Lambs Are Making The Masked Singer History On Finale Night

The Masked Singer season 8 contestants, the Lambs, will make history on finale night. The Lambs impressed the panelists, Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger, as they made songs their own with their incredible harmonies. In their debut performance on Muppets Night, they sang a rousing rendition of “Hot N Cold” by Katy Perry. They then dethroned the reigning Queen of The Masked Singer, Kat Graham (Robo Girl) in the Battle Royale, singing a powerful version of “Call Me” by Blondie.

The following week, the Lambs earned their spot in the semi-finals by defeating Le’Veon Bell (Milkshake) in the ’90s Night Battle Royale, singing “What Is Love” by Haddaway after their beautiful rendition of “Ironic” by Alanis Morissette. During the semi-finals, the Lambs sang “Need You Now” by Lady A. They later took on Harp and Snowstorm, singing “Since U Been Gone” by Kelly Clarkson in the Battle Royale. Snowstorm was revealed to be Nikki Glaser, and Harp and the Lambs moved on to the season finale. Although the panelists have guessed several different girl groups might be the Lambs, fans agree with Robin that they are most likely legendary pop group Wilson Phillips.

The Lambs Are Making Masked Singer History As The First Group In The Finale

As the Lambs compete in The Masked Singer season 8 finale, they are making history. They are the first group to make it into the finale. Although a few other groups have participated in the show before, the Lambs have made it further than any of them by making it to the semi-finals and now the finale. Hanson (Russian Dolls) made it to fifth place in season 5, while En Vogue (Queen Cobras) took fourth place in season 7. In season 8, The Brady Bunch brothers, Barry Williams (Greg), Christopher Knight (Peter), and Mike Lookinland (Bobby) took seventeenth place.

Since The Masked Singer began, most seasons have featured three acts in the finale. Like season 8, season 6 will have two acts in the finale. The Masked Singer season 8 is the first finale in which only women will compete. In season 1, T-Pain (Monster) won against Donny Osmond (Peacock) and Gladys Knight (Bee). Season 2 winner Wayne Brady (Fox) beat Chris Daughtry (Rottweiler) and Adrienne Bailon (Flamingo). In season 3, Kandi Burruss (Night Angel) defeated Jesse McCartney (Turtle) and Bow Wow (Frog). Season 4 champion LeAnn RImes (Sun) shone brightly over Aloe Blacc (Mushroom) and Nick Carter (Crocodile).

In The Masked Singer season 5, Nick Lachey (Piglet) won against JoJo (Black Swan) and Wiz Khalifa (Chameleon). Season 6 winner Jewel (Queen of Hearts) beat Todrick Hall (Bull). And in season 7, Teyana Taylor (Firefly) took home the Golden Mask Trophy over Hayley Orrantia (Ringmaster) and Cheyenne Jackson (Prince). In season 8, Nikki Glaser (Snowstorm) took third place, making the top 3 all women for the first time in Masked Singer history.

The Lambs are one of the greatest acts ever to grace The Masked Singer stage. They are making history for two important reasons. The Masked Singer fans cannot wait to see who the Lambs are during the finale. Whether they are the runners-up or the champions, the Lambs have already won The Masked Singer season 8.

The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
