HBO Max’s 2025 Lineup: First Looks at New and Returning Series

Fans of HBO have a lot to look forward to in 2025. On Sunday night, the network dropped a teaser for its upcoming slate of shows, showcasing new and returning shows to be released on HBO Max.

This exciting preview, timed with the season finale of “The Penguin”, reveals first-look footage from nearly 30 series that will air in late 2024 and into the next year.

Among the highlights, fans got first looks at “It: Welcome to Derry”, a chilling “It” prequel, and “The White Lotus” season three, which relocates the dark comedy to yet another luxury resort, this time in Thailand, promising more satire on wealth and privilege.

Returning favorites also include DC’s “Peacemaker” season two starring John Cena as well as The hit series, “The Last of Us”. The preview also offers a taste of upcoming episodes from “The Righteous Gemstones” season four, as well as “Hacks”, “Bookie”, and “The Gilded Age”, each continuing their critically acclaimed run on the network.

New additions to HBO’s roster include “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”, set within the Game of Thrones universe, and “Task”, which appears to be another high-concept HBO drama. Other original content, such as “The Chair Company”, “an untitled comedy” starring Rachel Sennott, and new Max Originals “Duster and The Pitt”, are also slated for release.

HBO isn’t just focusing on scripted series. 2025 will see the release of docuseries like “Celtics City”, a deep dive into Boston’s basketball culture, and “Pee-Wee, As Himself”, exploring the legacy of the late Paul Reubens and his iconic character Pee-Wee Herman.

HBO Max’s 2025 roster promises to keep viewers entertained across genres all year long.
