Gadar 2 was released in theatres on August 11 amid much anticipation and fanfare. According to Sacnilk.com, the Anil Sharma directorial venture has earned nearly Rs. 511 crores since its release. During a press conference held earlier, Sunny expressed that he was quite nervous before the film’s release. He said, “I was quite stressed before the release of the movie. When the movie was released, I cried and laughed the entire night. My father was around and he saw me. I told him, ‘I have not had alcohol. Main khush aa main ki kara (I am happy, what can I do)’.”
The actor also recently made an appearance on Rajat Sharma’s show Aap Ki Adalat. Speaking about the film’s success, Sunny said, “When he (Anil Sharma) told me about the idea, I liked it, and from then onwards, work began. I had this confidence that the people who liked ‘Gadar’ would also like this sequel. I knew either the movie would not click, or if it clicked, it would give the movie its due honor (izzat). This movie has kept its ‘izzat’ as a sequel.”
He was also asked if he would consider making a third installment of the Gadar franchise. The actor said that while he was nervous and scared before doing Gadar 2, he felt ready and prepared for Gadar 3.
