Futurama Returns for a New Season This July on Hulu Here is The New Trailer

Futurama welcomes us back to New New York! The upcoming eleventh season brings back all the fan favorites in yet another new season of a series that simply refuses to stay concluded.

The series has come a long way, through time and space, since its debut in 1999. The first batch of seasons ran through 2003, featuring some of the wittiest, nerdiest humor (in addition to the saddest episode in animated television history, “Jurassic Bark”) from the creative team led by Matt Groening and David X. Cohen.

Futurama returned in 2008 and 2009 as a series of four movies split into multiple episodes. The series again made a comeback from 2010 through 2013, seemingly summing up the story with a beautifully twisted faux series finale. Throughout Futurama’s span so far, the series won six Emmy Awards and was nominated for an additional fourteen.

Earlier this year, Vice President of 20th Century Television Animation Marci Proietto said, “I’ve always felt [Futurama] had more stories to tell.” He went on to say “Viewers can expect the same great humor and great writing they love. For Futurama, it’s like catching up with old friends in the most amazing way.”

Starting next month, the Planet Express crew is coming back again in full force this summer with returning cast members Billy West (Philip J. Fry, Professor Farnsworth, Zoidberg), Katey Sagal (Turanga Leela), John Dimaggio (Bender Bending Rodriguez), Phil LaMarr (Hermes Conrad), and Lauren Tom (Amy Wong).

The new season will have something for everyone, old fans and newbies alike, spanning twenty episodes. Check out the trailer to catch a glimpse of what’s in store.

The new season of Futurama premieres on July 24th exclusively on Hulu. Until then, go back in time and jump 1,000 years into the future by catching up on the first ten seasons of the series now streaming on Hulu.
