It’s now been four years since MCU and Jurassic World star Chris Pratt battled both nefarious forces and his own memory in one of Amazon’s biggest action thriller shows, The Terminal List, with the actor finally returning to the role of the vengeful former soldier in the first look at Season 2, which is due to land on 
Prime Video in a few months. Forget Reacher, Pratt is back.
Released back in 2022, The Terminal List is based on the 2018 novel of the same name by Jack Carr and follows Pratt as James Reece, a Navy SEAL who, after returning home, begins to question his own memory of an ambush he and his team faced while on a covert mission. The series was deeply divisive at the time, earning scores of 42% and 94% from critics and audiences, respectively. And it’s a divisiveness that creator and author Carr previously blamed on its lack of “woke stuff.”
In the years since, we’ve seen surprisingly little from the upcoming series, with these new images revealing not only an all-new look at Pratt’s now deeply disheveled James Reece, but also several returning cast members, including Tom Hopper, Luke Hemsworth, and Constance Wu in action.
Required to once again get fighting fit for his long-awaited return as James Reece in The Terminal List Season 2, which finds Reece lost without vengeance as a driving force. Initially looking a lot like Tom Hanks’ stranded survivor in Castaway, Pratt was able to appear gaunter than anticipated after “battling E. Coli and something called tick bite fever that I had gotten in Africa,” Pratt told USA TODAY, with the actor conjuring his action hero role in real-life as he was forced to simply “‘grip it and rip it.’ ”
It has now been confirmed that The Terminal List Season 2 will be based on Jack Carr’s 2019 New York Times best-selling novel “True Believer,” which begins when “a string of horrific terrorist attacks plagues the Western world during the holiday season.” The U.S. government turns to its most valuable asset, and the most-wanted domestic terrorist alive, James Reece, who, after avenging his family and former teammates, becomes “a reluctant tool of the United States government,” and “travels the globe, targeting terrorist leaders and unraveling a geopolitical conspiracy that exposes a traitorous CIA officer and uncovers a sinister assassination plot with worldwide repercussions,” as per the synopsis.
The first season of The Terminal List was released all the way back in July 2022, with Season 2 now all set to premiere on October 21, 2026. The series has now also sparked a franchise, with the recent prequel, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf being led by Pratt’s co-star Taylor Kitsch and receiving far more favorable reviews than the principal series.
