Film Premieres and Parties Gallery – Deadline

The 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival is in full swing with world premieres from Johnny Depp’s Jeanne Du Barry, Pedro Almodóvar’s queer western short Strange Way Of Life, Hirokazu Kore-Eda’s film Monster, James Mangold’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and Martin Scorsese’s Killers Of The Flower Moon starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Tantoo Cardinal, Lily Gladstone, Cara Jade Myers, and Janae Collins.

The feature film Firebrand, directed by Karim Aïnouz and starring Alicia Vikander as Katherine Parr and Jude Law as Henry VIII, presented its world premiere at the Cannes film festival, Sunday, May 21st.

The film follows Catherine Parr attempts to navigate English politics when she becomes King Henry VIII’s sixth wife. The premiere was attended by Sam Riley, Junia Rees, Amr Waked, Mina Andala, Gabrielle Tana, Michael Fassbender, Michelle Yeoh, Carla Bruni, Marion Cotillard & more.

The Hope Awards were announced at a special event during the 76th Cannes Film Festival last night, and were presented to: amfAR Global Fundraising Chairman Miltin Gatsby, who was recognized for his unparalleled philanthropic efforts as a champion and essential leader for amfAR and its mission to end the AIDS epidemic worldwide and documentary filmmakers Bianca Stigter, Sahra Mani and global non-profit Reporters Without Border for defending free speech across the globe.

Vanity Fair Editor-in-Chief Radhika Jones and Prada hosted an exclusive dinner and afterparty, Saturday, May 20th, celebrating the 76th annual Festival de Cannes. The soirée was attended by Robert De Niro, Hank Azaria, Bryan Cranston, Jeff Bezos, Naomi Campbell, Rachel Sennott, Noah Jupe and more at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc.

Press conferences today included the films Killers Of The Flower Moon attended by Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone, Director Martin Scorsese, and Robert De Niro; May December attended by Cory Michael Smith, Julianne Moore, director Todd Haynes, Charles Melton, and Natalie Portman; Director Mona Achache and Marion Cotillard for Little Girl Blue; Le Temps D’Aimer (Along Came Love); Jennifer Lawrence at Bread And Roses; Omar La Fraise (The King Of Algiers); Robot Dreams; Banel E Adama; If Only I Could Hibernate and Goodbye Julia.

 

Other buzzy premieres taking place at the festival are HBO’s The Idol, Firebrand and Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City.
