Speaking with Variety, Vin Diesel confirmed when production will officially begin on Fast Forever, the 11th and final movie in the Fast & Furious franchise. Asked when filming begins, Diesel stated that he and the team “start shooting in December,” pending one unspecified request from Universal. Noting that he is in “a good place” after going through “four sets of writers” and “four years of development,” he now feels the movie is worthy of being the final chapter in this story after reading the script:
“We start shooting in December, if I can make good on the request from the studio. I’m in a good place, though, I’ve had to go through four sets of writers, four years of development to get to something that I felt would be worthy of a finale, and when I read the script a couple weeks ago, it was just…”
