Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for Squid Game: The Challenge.
No, it’s not Squid Game Season 2. Instead, this is a full-blown competition series, premiering November 22, 2023.
56 real players will enter the competition show in pursuit of a life-changing reward of USD $4.56 million.
As they compete through a series of games inspired by the original show – plus surprising new additions – their strategies, alliances, and character will be put to the test while competitors are eliminated around them.
The series was picked up following the success of Squid Game Season 1, which launched on Netflix in 2021.
It quickly solidified itself as the biggest hit to grace the streaming service. Ever.
With Squid Game Season 2 in the works, the game show aims to check if the format can work as an unscripted series.

“The Controller” is the on-screen mastermind behind the game, who dictates where the pairs go, what they must do, and sets their questions.
He monitors each pair’s quest, delighting in the unfolding drama of his intricately devised and often relentless challenges.
The Controller has hidden ten questions around the world for each pair of contestants, who have a chance of winning £1,000,000.
To reach these questions, the pairs face Bond-inspired challenges, which push their physical strength and mental reserves to the limit.

Elsewhere, Peacock has announced that House of Kardashian, a new three-part documentary, will premiere Thursday, November 16, 2023.
“No other family defines our time or divides opinion like the Kardashians,” reads the official description.
“To some they are admired as a dynasty of powerful women, inspiring girls across the planet.
“To others they are untalented and morally bankrupt reality stars, who are damaging women by selling their life as a superficial fairytale.

“With bold and entertaining storytelling, never seen before archive and exclusive interviews with those in their inner circle – including Caitlyn Jenner – House of Kardashian challenges the audience to think about the influence they have undoubtedly had on our lives,” the synopsis adds.
“Focusing on the three most powerful members of the Kardashian-Jenner family – Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner – this three-part series confounds expectations and what we think we know about the Kardashians, to explore their rise, reach and the cost that comes with being some of the most famous women on the planet.
“The tightly controlled narratives behind the family’s relationships, scandals, controversial business deals and personal struggles are seen from a new perspective, revealing first-hand accounts from those close to the family and within it.
“And their story isn’t over – as the family’s influence and ambition continues to grow, the series also considers where their huge power will take them and the kind of legacy they will leave behind.”
