YouTuber Ethan Klein has been dropped from the popular H3 Podcast after his wife Hila Klein revealed that he has been having an affair for over six months, and he’s breaking his silence on the allegations.
“We are all shocked, angry, and heartbroken to learn about Ethan’s ongoing affair. As soon as we found out, we all agreed: we would not continue working with Ethan involved or profiting in any way,” the H3 Podcast crew wrote on Instagram late Thursday. “We don’t yet know what that means for the future. There’s a lot to work through, and we wish we had more answers for you.”
The statement continued, “We stand with Hila and will support her every step of the way. We’re disgusted by Ethan’s actions and the hurt he has caused. We all deserved better: Hila, us, and you. “Please know that we’re safe, we’re sticking together, and we’re looking after each other. We’ve put so much of ourselves into this show, and it’s hard to find the words for what we’re feeling right now. Thank you for giving us some time to figure things out, and for all the love you’ve shown us. We love you, and we miss you already.”
Ethan and Hila co-host H3 on their YouTube channel, which has amassed 2.5 million followers. Ethan previously co-hosted the Frenemies podcast (which aired on H3‘s YouTube) alongside Trisha Paytas, whom is married to Hila’s brother Moses Hacmon; they canceled that podcast after a fallout.
Ethan shared an initial statement on his Instagram Story Friday asking fans to “please respect my family’s privacy and do not contact them looking for me or asking for their comments. They have nothing to do with this and share in your outrage and disappointment. Thank you.” He then shared a follow-up post when he confirmed he’s in the process of fully cutting ties with the H3 Podcast.
“I am working with Hila to urgently remove my ownership and financial stakes in any podcasts, [Hila’s businesses] Teddy Fresh, Teddy Glow or any joint venture that I would profit from. All of your support will go directly to Hila and the crew,” Ethan wrote. “I do this in the hope that people can still support Hila and the Crew without the concern of enriching me. I know the crew will make an awesome show, they are packed to the brim with the most talented, creative, hilarious and all around great people.”
Hila shared on Instagram late Thursday night that she learned her husband, Ethan, had been having an affair. She wrote, “I am living a nightmare I can’t wake up from. My husband has been having an affair. I have been fed lie after lie after lie for months. Here is the truth.”
“I could sense something was wrong. I tried to ask him questions and share my concerns and hurt feelings. But I was met with dismissive answers and no action. Things that bothered me continued to bother me, and he did nothing about it. So I trusted him. Because I loved him. I stopped questioning him and began to question myself, my own instincts. My sanity,” she continued. “Eventually, he was caught in a lie, and I knew I was done. But the lies continued. ‘It was just a kiss’ became ‘it was emotional cheating.’ After I dragged these lies from him, he finally admitted he’d been in an affair for over 6 months, the extent of which I’m sure I still don’t know.”
Hila wrote, “The betrayal I feel is immeasurable. The person I loved and trusted for 20 years evaporated overnight. He was my safe place, my partner in marriage, parenting, and business. My only family on this side of the world. How do I even begin to make sense of this?”
“I don’t know what comes next; I’ve never been here before. I am in survival mode, trying to navigate separation, co-parenting, and unthinkable heartbreak. All I can do right now is focus on taking care of myself and my children, one day at a time. You’re not crazy. Trust your instincts. Trust yourself. If you’re not being treated right, get up and leave,” she concluded.
The H3 Podcast launched in 2016 and has featured interviews with Post Malone, MrBeast and Jack Black. It’s been nominated for best podcast at the Streamy Awards five times.
Ethan and Hila married in 2012, and share three children.
