The annual PEN America Literary Gala celebrates writers who ‘champion and defend freedom of expression.’ Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels, 78, is among this year’s honorees, and will be awarded the Audible Literary Service Award. Many of his SNL stars came out to support him at the event, including Colin Jost, 40, who served as the night’s host.

Baldwin also shared an Instagram image with Narges’ husband, Tahgi Rahmani, who accepted the PEN/Barbey Freedom to Write Award on her behalf.
‘Unbelievable courage on both of their parts,’ the actor wrote in the caption of the image.
Candace Bushnell, 64, looked incredible as ever in an off-shoulder black gown with a feather trim.
