For our “Deals of the Week,” we found streaming tools for all kinds of creators.
Between Twitch, YouTube, and even Facebook Live, streaming has become a fun (and at times a lucrative) career path. No matter if you’re a hobbyist with a machine shop or 25 million people, follow your Twitch channel, the tools you use are probably the same. At least conceptually.
That’s why for our Deals of the Week, we discovered some options to either upgrade your setup or get you started streaming to the masses.
The ATEM Mini Pro ISO HDMI Live Stream Switcher from Blackmagic Design is a four-input live production switcher with an integrated control panel designed for multicamera live streaming. Creatives can stream HD video to the internet via Ethernet output, making it a great solution for podcasts, presentations, or streams with multiple video sources. They don’t even have to be cameras!
This unit features a USB output that allows you to record the program output as well as record the individual HDMI inputs to an optional external USB drive. In addition to recording the program stream and individual inputs, the ATEM Mini Pro ISO also records the embedded audio and analog audio inputs, generating a DaVinci Resolve project file of your live stream. This allows you to take your live production into DaVinci Resolve to make tweaks or adjustments using the source material that is already on your USB drive.
If the ATEM Mini Pro is your at-home studio setup, the YoloLiv Yolobox Pro is the tool you take on the road.
Creatives can create a live stream production from anywhere. The YoloBox Pro can simultaneously broadcast up to three video streams via Wi-Fi, RJ45 Ethernet, or via 4G LTE with a separately available SIM card and subscription. It also features multiple updates from the original YoloBox, including HDCP compliance, both mic and line analog audio inputs, a USB input, three HDMI inputs, a Qualcomm 660 encoder/processor, a high-capacity 10,000mAh internal battery, and a larger 8″ LCD touchscreen display with 400 cd/m² brightness.
Connect and live switch up to 10 video sources, and then connect to a local area network via Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or LTE. The large 8″ touchscreen display shows the streaming image, the input streams as well as the control interface, which allows you to switch between the info sources with a touch.
For more production-heavy projects, like live events, the Atomos ZATO CONNECT is always a solid choice. Creatives can simultaneously stream and record HDMI and USB video, which can then be sent to the ATOMOS Cloud Studio software via Wi-Fi 5, Gigabit Ethernet, or cellular hotspot connectivity. This allows content creators to fully customize their live streaming experience by switching between video sources and mixing different audio sources—all with a single, compact device small enough to mount on a DSLR camera rig.
One HDMI input, one HDMI output, and two corresponding USB Type-C ports can transform various video equipment into livestream or webcam sources. The ZATO CONNECT can record up to 1080p60 HDMI video and up to 1080p30 USB video. One 3.5mm audio input integrates a microphone or line source, which can be easily mixed with the embedded HDMI or USB signals thanks to the ZATO’s audio mixer. AtomOS Lite software further customizes your recordings and streams with effects and frame guides to reinforce your branding. Power to the device can be achieved with an L-series battery or via the USB Type-C PD input.
