Does Shazam! Fury of the Gods have a post-credits scene – and, if so, how many? The DC movie is releasing almost four years after the first film in 2019. Picking up the story of Billy Batson (Asher Angel) and his alterego of Shazam (Zachary Levi), Fury of the Gods sees the DC superhero take on the Daughters of Atlas. The trio of villains is different from what was teased in the Shazam! post-credits scene, which introduced DC Comics character Mister Mind.
Now that Shazam! Fury of the Gods is hitting theaters, it continues the character’s DC movie franchise. Since they’ve become a staple of many DC movies, it seems a no-brainer Shazam 2 has an end credits scene. However, it may be unclear exactly how many post-credits scenes Shazam 2 has and whether they’re important to the hero’s DC future.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods Has 2 End Credits Scenes
Just as Shazam! had two post-credits scenes, Shazam! Fury of the Gods keeps with tradition and includes two end credits scenes. The stingers arrive at the mid-credits point, just after the stylized credits honor the main cast and creatives involved with the film, and then at the very end of the movie. So anyone wanting to watch both of Shazam 2’s credits scenes will need to stick around through the movie’s full two-hour and 10-minute runtime.
Do You Need To Wait For Shazam 2’s Second Credits Scene
It’s always worth watching a film’s credits to get an idea of the sheer amount of people it takes to make a movie, from the cast and director to the VFX artists and sound engineers. In terms of the credits scenes themselves, the first is perhaps more immediately important to Shazam’s future than the latter. To avoid spoilers, the content of the Shazam 2 credits scenes won’t be mentioned here, but both set up key aspects of a possible Shazam 3.
Whether Shazam 3 happens remains to be seen, since the DC movie franchise is currently in a transition phase. After DC Studios launched in November 2022, co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran announced their plans for a new DC Universe that kicks off with Superman: Legacy in 2025. Before then, the remainder of the DC movies greenlit by the previous regime still need to release — including Shazam! Fury of the Gods, followed by The Flash, Blue Beetle and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The fates of Billy Batson and the other heroes are currently unclear, but the Shazam! Fury of the Gods credits scenes may offer some hope for Shazam’s DC Universe future.
