Directors and Producers Forum Launches in U.K.

Forum Launch

A forum for directors and producers has launched in the U.K. Founded by directors body Directors U.K., producers body Pact, ITV Studios and BBC Studios, the joint working group will have its inaugural meeting on Dec. 13. It will meet bi-annually after that.

The forum has been established to discuss industry developments, the state of the sector and production matters, among other items. Among the most pressing matters on the agenda are challenges facing the industry from skills training to inflation.

“The purpose of the Directors and Producers Forum is to create a much needed platform, away from the day-to- day pressures of production, for directors and producers to work collaboratively and openly,” said Andy Harrower, CEO of Directors U.K. “In looking at the bigger picture together, we can jointly deal with some of the challenges we face.”

Max Rumney, deputy CEO of Pact, said: “Pact is pleased to be part of this new forum which brings with it a more formal structure for directors and producers to meet and discuss production developments and current issues.”

ANIMATION

Former DreamWorks and Netflix exec Bruce Daitch has joined the advisory board of production company God’s Gang led by Nimrod Avraham May.

Daitch will be tasked with facilitating new funding, production and broadcasting partnerships for the studio’s eponymous animation “God’s Gang.”

Written by Rob Kutner (“Ben 10”) and directed by Ehud Landsberg (“Transformers: Cyberverse”), the show brings together four heroes from different faiths to introduce audiences aged 9-10 to Hinduism, Islam, Christianity and Judaism. It was created by May, a former marketing exec at Disney.

“I am beyond proud to join a team that is so committed to changing the world, one martial arts superhero at a time,” said Daitch. “The God’s Gang team have nailed it, and I am excited to work with them.”
