With no end in sight to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, major studios will soon have to shake up their release schedules.
According to insiders, one of the first major blows to the 2024 release schedule has fallen, as 20th Century Studios’ Deadpool 3 will not arrive on May 3, 2024.

Deadline has reported that even if the strike were to end in the next few weeks, Deadpool 3 would not reach the finish line in time.
Marvel’s Release Schedule
While other studios will likely face similar delays, Deadpool 3 puts Marvel in a uniquely difficult position.
Captain America: Brave New World, which has already been pushed back to July 26, could still be released on time. The film is reportedly closer to completion than Deadpool 3.

That would make early November the most likely time for a Deadpool 3 release. Previous Marvel films such as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Thor: Ragnarok have fared well in November.

If Disney chooses to delay Deadpool 3 even further, December could be a possible target date. The problem with such a strategy is that Thunderbolts is expected to hit theaters on December 20, 2024. That film, however, was paused in May due to the onset of the WGA strike and may not be ready on time.
Deadpool’s MCU Debut
Deadpool 3, which is reportedly halfway finished, continued production through the WGA strike but was halted with the onset of the SAG-AFTRA strike.

The first will be the first Deadpool entry produced by Marvel Studios, and it is expected that Deadpool 3 will tie the Merc with the Mouth into the broader MCU.
It should be noted that Disney has yet to make Deadpool 3‘s delay official. If insiders are correct, however, the studio may already be off to a rough 2024.
