Deadpool 3 Fan Trailer Brings Ryan Reynolds & Hugh Jackman Into The MCU

A Deadpool 3 fan trailer imagines what it will look like to have Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the MCU.

A new Deadpool 3 fan trailer sees Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While Marvel Studios has unveiled massive plans for its coming Phases, the Deadpool 3 announcement was one of the company’s biggest in 2022. After retiring as Wolverine following the events of Logan, Jackman announced with Reynolds that he would reprise the X-Men icon in Deadpool 3. Shawn Levy is attached as the director for Deadpool 3, based on a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. The Deadpool trilogy finale will see Wade Wilson officially join the MCU.

While Deadpool 3 will not start production until 2023, it’s currently one of the most highly anticipated upcoming MCU films. Screen Culture recently released a fan-made trailer to give an idea of what Wade’s adventure with Wolverine will be like in Deadpool 3. The so-called proof-of-concept sees Deadpool already throwing quips at the MCU, going as far as name-dropping Kevin Feige. Jackman can also be seen sporting the infamous Wolverine costume, although if he actually does it in Deadpool 3 remains to be seen. Check out the Deadpool 3 fan trailer below:

Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool Can Finally Poke Fun At The MCU & It’s Going To Be Great

The MCU is no stranger to breaking the fourth wall as She-Hulk: Attorney at Law already explored that concept. However, Deadpool 3 will be able to do it on a whole different level, especially when looking at Reynolds’ first installments. Even though She-Hulk: Attorney at Law got to poke fun at the MCU, Wade does it on a far more extreme level. The past Deadpool movies went as far as to throw shade at the studio’s own convoluted X-Men cinematic universe with its many timeline mix-ups.

Anyone who has seen the original Deadpool movies remembers that Reynolds’ titular character made a mockery of the 2011 Green Lantern film. If the Deadpool films made fun of how Wade was depicted in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, there are no limits to what he will say about the MCU. As successful as the franchise has been for decades, there are definitely layers of it that Deadpool 3 could easily joke about, including the recent CGI criticisms.

The funniest callout would be if Deadpool 3 mentioned the weird status between the original Marvel TV shows and their place in the MCU. Despite shows like Agents of SHIELD and The Defenders properties being canon to the MCU, the films have failed to reference them. While Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Vincent D’Noforio’s Kingpin have popped up in the larger MCU, the Netflix drama has barely been acknowledged. That aspect is something that Deadpool 3 could make a ton of gags about, as it has been one of the most ridiculous MCU debates for years. Once Deadpool 3 is in production, it will become clearer what else is in store for Reynolds and Jackman’s MCU adventure.
