Harley Quinn invites us to fly high to live the adventures of Kite Man in the first trailer for the new DC animated series, Kite Man: Hell Yeah!, coming to Max 2024.

The fourth season of the popular series starring Kaley Cuoco is coming to an end, and even though the future of the main show remains a mystery in the midst of the construction of a new DCU, a spin-off story is coming to the small screen. Kite Man was introduced in the first season of the animated series, with the character trying to get Ivy’s romantic attention. He has appeared several times since, earning some popularity among the fans, which was probably the reason why he has been chosen to star in his own spinoff.

The first trailer for the show, titled Kite Man: Hell Yeah! was released on Thursday. Check it out below:

Just like the Harley Quinn series, the trailer prepares the audience for a story full of violence, sex, cursing, and a lot of dark humor. Who’s Kite Man?

Warner Bros. Television Distribution

Kite Man, also known as Charles “Chuck” Brown, was created by the writer Bill Finger and artist Dick Sprang in 1960, first appearing in Batman #133. His name, although he is a villain, was inspired by the popular Peanuts’ character Charlie Brown, since he was commonly seen carrying a kite. As his name indicates, Charles uses kite-inspired weapons to commit his crimes, and flies around with a giant kite attached to his suit back.

Despite being part of the Caped Crusader’s wide gallery of enemies, Kite Man is rarely taken seriously, especially because he is a character who has always contributed a lot of humor to the stories in which he appears. Something that he also did in the Harley Quinn series, and will continue to do in his own show.

On television, the character has previously made an important appearance before the Harley series, joining the animated show Batman: The Brave and the Bold, in addition to having a special cameo in the children’s series DC Super Hero Girls. On the big screen, Kite Man appears in the acclaimed The Lego Batman Movie, and was also considered by James Gunn to be part of his 2021 film The Suicide Squad, although he was ultimately not included. But now that Gunn is the co-CEO of DC Studios and will be introducing many new characters to the franchise, he may get a chance of getting a live-action treatment.
