Model and author Chrissy Teigen announced today on Instagram that she and husband John Legend are expecting their fourth child together.
“The last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again,” wrote Teigen, 36, alongside a selfie mirror snap of herself with her growing baby bump wearing a black top and a pair of sheer, high-waisted Gucci underwear. “1 billion shots later (in the leg lately, as [you] can see!) we have another on the way.”

The joyful announcement comes almost two years after Teigen revealed that she and Legend tragically lost their third child, Jack, following pregnancy complications in September 2020. Bravely opening up about the experience of their loss, Teigen ignited an important conversation around miscarriage. Since then, she’s continued to be transparent about the IVF treatments she’s undergone to conceive again, her honesty helping to shed stigmas around fertility struggles and empower others on their pregnancy journey.
“Every appointment I’ve said to myself, ‘Ok, if it’s healthy today I’ll announce,’” Teigen continued in the caption of her announcement. “But then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still. I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves, but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing.”
Teigen and Legend welcomed their first child, Luna Simone, back in 2016, and their second, Miles Theodore, in 2018. It’s a big day for the Legend-Teigen family, and a thrill to see them finally able to share their exciting news. As Teigen wrote, “Ok, phew it’s been very hard keeping this in for so long!”
