Zeta-Jones is on a bit of a career upswing lately, giving her plenty of opportunities to stunt on red carpets…and leading to this frankly kind of hilarious moment when she showed up to the premiere of her new Disney Plus show National Treasure: Edge of History…in an outfit clearly evocative of her Wednesday character Morticia Addams.

The Oscar winner and home good proprietor is always one for Old Hollywood Glamour, and speaking of Glamour (hey! that’s us!), she shared with us one decidedly un-glamorous moment when she was caught unawares and realized that moms tend to be right more than not:
“The best beauty advice my mom ever gave me was to make the most of yourself…she used to say, ‘You’ll never know when you’ll meet the president of the United States.’ That’s a bizarre thing, right? Especially since I grew up in Wales…But then, one day, I was in Washington D.C. because I was going to be giving Sean Connery [an award] at the Kennedy Center Honors. The morning of, I was going on a tour of the Christmas decorations at the White House. It was 8 a.m. I didn’t have a scrap of makeup on my face and was wearing a baseball cap with my hair in a scrunchie. Then they let me take a look at the Oval Office. Bill Clinton was chipping golf balls outside—and then he came in. All I was thinking was, My mother told me to make the most of myself, you never know when you’re going to meet the president! I didn’t even listen to anything he said to me. I was just thinking, Oh my God, my mother told me this, and look at me, not even a lick of mascara.”
