Britney Spears’ wedding to Sam Asghari on Thursday, June 9 was set to be an intimate affair with roughly 60 guests from the couple’s inner circle. However, one unexpected—and presumably unwanted—addition to the party showed up: Jason Alexander, Spears’ first husband to whom she was married to for 55 hours in 2004.
According to TMZ, Alexander crashed the event claiming that Spears had invited him and that she was his “first and only wife.” The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Variety that Alexander, who was Spears’ childhood friend, that the office was dispatched to Spears’ residence to investigate a trespassing complaint. “After running a records check, Alexander was found to have an out of county warrant and was placed under arrest for that offense,” Variety reports. “Deputies are still on scene investigating what occurred, and then will determine if additional charges will be placed on Alexander in relation to the trespassing.”
Alexander reportedly live streamed as he crashed the event. Earlier in the day he also posted an Instagram sharing his theories around Britney Spears with the caption, “Follow the Money.”
