“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy,” the couple say in a statement. “This is a devastating time for any parent. Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along, however, we were overly excited to share the good news. Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family. We are grateful for all of your support. We kindly ask for privacy during this difficult moment.”
In a subsequent interview Asghari open up about the loss but underscores that he and Spears are still trying for a child: “One beautiful thing that I heard was when the baby’s ready, it’ll come.”
June 9, 2022: It’s wedding day! The couple are married in an intimate ceremony at Spears’s LA home with more than 60 guests in attendance, including A-listers like Selena Gomez, Madonna, Paris Hilton, Drew Barrymore, and Donatella Versace, the latter of whom designs all four of Spears’s wedding dresses.
Despite an unsuccessful attempt by Spears’s first husband, Jason Alexander, to crash the wedding, the couple appear unfazed and in love.
July 28, 2023: Nearly two months after their one-year anniversary, Spears and Asghari separate, according to his divorce filing.
August 16, 2023: TMZ reports that Spears and Asghari have officially split. People later confirms the breakup, attributing the news to multiple sources close to the couple. At this point representatives for both parties have not returned requests for comment.
Per TMZ, the pair had a “blowout” fight after Asghari confronted Spears about her alleged infidelity. (Rumors that she was unfaithful have not been verified.) He has since moved out of their home, according to the outlet.
Hours after news of their split hit the internet, Spears posts a photo of herself on Instagram, apparently taken during a previous vacation with her now ex-husband.
