A British woman has been killed and an Italian man seriously injured after a motorbike they were on smashed into another vehicle in a coastal Portuguese town.
An alert for the accident on the National Road (EN) 109 in Quintã, in the Vagos municipality, was given at 9.08pm on Monday.
Police and ambulance teams responded to the call.
The tragedy happened a day after a British cyclist died in a hit-and-run incident in Spain.
The 69-year-old died as a result of his injuries after being knocked off a bike on a road in the municipality of Turre near to Almeria in the south-east of the country.

Quintã, in the Vagos municipality, is located on the coast, around 90km south of Porto
The incident occurred at around 10.30am, near to a local fire station.
Efforts to save his life at the scene proved unsuccessful.
A 66-year-old man said to live locally was arrested shortly after the incident and appeared in court yesterday on suspicion of manslaughter and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
He was bailed pending an ongoing investigation.
