BREAKING: Marvel Has Fired Jonathan Majors

Jonathan Majors

Following today’s news that a Manhattan jury had found Jonathan Majors guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, all eyes turned to Marvel Studios to see how they would respond.

Acting decisively and swiftly, Marvel has announced that Majors has been immediately fired and will not appear in the MCU going forward.

Marvel Had Stood By Majors

Prior to his March arrest, Majors was being set up as the next major Marvel villain, with his Kang the Conqueror set to permeate the MCU going forward.

Majors first played a version of Kang, in Loki Season 1, before reprising his role (albeit as a variant of his Loki character)  in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

While other entities, including Major League Baseball’s Texas Rangers and the United States Army, quickly parted ways with Majors following his success, Marvel remained quiet.

Even as Majors’ trial kicked off in New York, Marvel was debuting new episodes of Loki Season 2, which once again starred the embattled actor.

Where Does the MCU Go From Here?

Now that Majors has been found guilty by a jury of his peers, Marvel can no longer continue to have the actor as the face of their franchise. The question remains, however, where does the studio go from here?

As of right now, Marvel is not saying whether or not it will recast the role of Kang. Alternatively, they could simply move on from the character’s storylines altogether.

The studio has recast roles before, famous for replacing Edward Norton with Mark Ruffalo as the Incredible Hulk and swapping out Terrance Howard for Don Cheadle as James Rhodes.

With the failure of Quantumania at the box office, however, Marvel could also move on from the Kang storyline altogether.

As of right now, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is slated for a May 1, 2026 release.

While recasting the role of Kang seems like Marvel’s most straightforward route, as of now, all options seem open.
