Honkai: Star Rail recently updated to 1.1, and with it comes a new character, new events, and what we thought would be new functions, but it seems like we may have to wait a little bit longer for perhaps the one thing I was really looking forward to. And that is the chat functions between friends.
Honkai: Star Rail Claims Chat Between Friends Has Been Delayed Until Further Notice
Wow, not much of a source for information, but I’m kind of used to Hoyoverse being scarce with providing news on their update. If you weren’t aware before, Honkai: Star Rail will introduce similar functions from Genshin Impact where you can chat with the people you’ve exchanged UIDs with.
Whether you’ve met that person through the game itself or you knew each other beforehand, then exchanged information so that you can stay connected through the game and not have to dip to Discord to talk to each other between cutscenes. This is kind of a big blow because there weren’t a lot of functions that Honkai: Star Rail was missing when new players went into it, but connecting between friends online was definitely one of them.
And while I do love connecting with my friends and fooling around in chat while playing the game, the most exciting feature is all the emoticons that are going to be available when it is released! We’ve already seen plenty of adorable Pom-Pom icons in the chat message we have with characters already, but similar to Genshin Impact, we can also expect characters to have emotive icons too.
You may have already seen some floating around online in the form of those Profile Icons you can get through the Battle Pass, but it’d be even better to see and send those to your friends. Sampo flicking through and counting his money, Bronya’s ridiculous outdated flowery style when it comes to using emotes, and all of the cute ones we can expect from a chibi March 7th.
