The 2024 Golden Globes was not without its dramatic moments, but this moment in particular between Ali Wong and Bill Hader, was a sweet and tender one that had us tugging at our heartstrings.
After Ali Wong was announced the winner of best actress in a limited or anthology series or a motion picture made for television for her role in “Beef”, she received a sweet kiss from partner Bill Hader who was also nominated that night for his show “Barry”. The two tearfully embraced before Wong made her way up to the stage to accept her award.
This was Wong’s first Golden Globe nomination, and she was up against Lessons in Chemistry lead Brie Larson, Love & Death actress Elizabeth Olsen, Fargo’s Juno Temple, Dead Ringers’ Rachel Weisz and Daisy Jones & The Six star Riley Keough for Sunday’s prize.
The pair first started dating in 2022, but ended their romance in December 2022. Their relationship was since rekindled in April 2023. Throughout 2023 the two were spotted out and about in LA, hiking together and grabbing smoothies by the paparazzi. The Golden Globes marks their first public outing as a couple.

Hader has three daughters of his own from his marriage to director Maggie Carey, which ended in 2018. Ali Wong has 2 with her ex husband Justin Hakuta.
While speaking to ExtraTV Ali was asked about her kiss with Bill to which she replied, “It was sweet, it’s really nice to be able to be able to celebrate with a lot of people that I’m close to, including him.”
Their smooch wasn’t the only exciting thing to happen to Hader at the Globes though, bring the fan boy he is, Bill Hader just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take a selfie with the iconic Taylor Swift, blessing us with a picture of the two.
