You’ve known him as the hilarious comedian and impressionist on SNL, the actor who you saw in rom coms, comedies and other stuff, the actor who was constantly voucing different characters in animated movies, the guy who created and starred in Documentary Now, that guy from IT 2 and finally, the guy who created, directs and stars in his own TV show Barry.
Bill Hader has accomplished a lot over the years, especially in the years since he’s left SNL, when he first started out he was a PA in Hollywood with dreams of becoming a director, “I was not a good PA,” said Hader once. It’s now that we’re really starting to see him focus more on his directing, what he is really passionate about. Bill will be directing all 8 episodes of Barry season 4. Anyone who has watched Barry season 3 could see that Bill is an incredible director. Episode 710N will prove that. Bill has nabbed multiple awards and nominations for his acting and for his directing. Even having won a Directors Guild of America Award for Barry in 2020.
With Bill Hader focusing on his directing so much, he has been more engaged with other directors while also speaking about his past and his upcoming show. We also got to see Bill speak in a panel alongside Ryan Coogler, Ron Howard and Steven Spielberg during the start of Awards Season 2022, and in the HBO series directors with Miguel Sapochnik, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Bridget Stokes and Antonio Campos Bill joined a Meet the Makers panel at Variety‘s FYC Fest.
In 2019 Bill Hader was inducted into the Variety Hall of Fame, in 2022, he has made the Variety500 list, an index of the 500 most influential leaders shaping the global media industry. Bill has been named alongside directors like Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Actors like Andrew Garfield, Pop Sensations like Adele and more.
Hader continues to build up his performances in TV and film, his directing, and his studio which he named HANARPLY after his 3 daughters and his many more accolades.
