TIME has released its 2023 class of 100 most influential people in the world, and one of those people is Bella Hadid, supermodel and Free Palestine activist. Judging by her long, heartfelt Instagram post, Hadid is feeling a lot of feelings about the honor.
“In awe of this achievement, and being able to be recognized along side so many talented, hardworking and life changing people,” Hadid’s IG caption began, going on to praise the challenging work of other figures on TIME’s list, and acknowledge there’s still much to be done. “The truth is, to say I am anywhere near as influential as some of these big names, is a huge statement to make, but please know, I can feel the weight and understand my responsibilities within it,” she continued. “To be recognized for the work I’ve done, just makes me want to work harder to be a part of the change we want to see in this world.” Hadid vows to continue doing everything in her power to be a force for good in the world and to always stand up for what’s right.

Supermodel Christy Turlington, the Bella Hadid of her day and a fellow humanitarian activist, was tapped for Hadid’s write-up in the magazine. “Bella Hadid is as good as she is beautiful,” Turlington wrote for TIME. “Behind that chiseled face, radiating from within her physical being, shines a lightness and vulnerability that she shares openly with nearly 60 million followers on Instagram…Within this new generation that has limitless potential to create positive change in the world, Bella holds unique power.”
