The BBC has acquired all three seasons of Hulu’s Love, Victor.
Set in the same universe as hit movie Love, Simon, the show focuses on a new student at Creekwood High School, played by Michael Cimino. The series follows his journey of self-discovery: facing challenges at home and struggling with his sexual orientation. He reaches out to Simon (played by Nick Robinson, star of the original Love, Simon film) when it seems too difficult for him to navigate his way through high school.
Love, Victor ran for three seasons between 2020 and 2022.
The deal was struck with Disney Entertainment. The BBC has been buying more American shows of late, having struck a deal for AMC’s Interview with the Vampire earlier this month along with Australian hits such as Colin From Accounts and Scrublands.
Sue Deeks, Head of BBC Programme Acquisition, said: “Love, Victor is a heartfelt, funny and nuanced coming-of-age story, beautifully portrayed by a winning and relatable cast.”
Love, Victor is produced by Temple Hill Entertainment, No Helmet Productions, The Walk-Up Company and 20th Television.
