Bottoms: Ayo Edebiri And Rachel Sennott Take A BFF Test
There’s nothing quite like the energy of a comedic duo. From Amy Poehler and Tina Fey to Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key, two comedy buds just having a ball and making each other laugh is possibly the best way to make viewers laugh too. Make no mistake, Ayo Edebiri and Rachel Sennott are up there with the comedy greats.
Ayo (The Bear, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mania) and Rachel (The Idol, Shiva Baby) are both having major years, and they’re keeping the triumphs coming by costarring together in the new comedy Bottoms.
In the film, which dropped in select theaters Aug. 25 and opens nationwide Sept. 1, the duo play socially awkward high school students who start a school fight club as a means to flirt with their female classmates.
The film was directed by Emma Seligman, who previously directed Rachel in the hit indie film Shiva Baby. (Rachel and Emma also cowrote Bottoms.) Plus, the likes of Kaia Gerber, Nicholas Galitzine, and Marshawn Lynch costar in the film.
So to celebrate the film’s release, Ayo and Rachel took BuzzFeed’s BFF test. Expectations were high for the two actors, who first met as up-and-coming comics in New York, and thankfully, they delivered hilarious and heartfelt answers…
…like guessing each other’s first job. Hint: Babysitting was NOT either of their first gigs.
Then Ayo guessed that Nicholas would be their Bottoms costar who would answer Rachel’s spontaneous FaceTime. Naturally, this prompted Rachel to take a stab at the British actor’s accent.
The video is truly a must-watch.
Rachel and Ayo also discuss their comedy icons, their favorite iconic teen comedy, and even their favorite pair of bottoms, like jeans or shorts…get it?
