Lisa Marie Presley, 54 years old, has passed away only a few hours after she was rushed to the hospital Thursday, January 12, after suffering cardiac arrest.
Austin Butler, who was with both Priscilla and Lisa Marie at The Golden Globes on Tuesday to celebrate his role in Elvis, has released a statement today about her passing. Butler said, “My heart is completely shattered for Riley, Finley, Harper and Priscilla at the tragic and unexpected loss of Lisa Marie. I am eternally grateful for the time I was lucky enough to be near her bright light and will forever cherish the quiet moments we shared. Her warmth, her love and her authenticity will always be remembered”
TMZ was the first to confirm that Lisa Marie had been taken to the hospital this morning. According to TMZ, “sources directly connected to Lisa Marie told them paramedics performed CPR at her house this Thursday in Calabasas.” She was then taken to the hospital (she regained a pulse) but was then put in a medically induced coma and life support. She was in the Intensive Care Unit, with a temporary pacemaker in critical condition.
Shortly after her death her mother, Priscilla Presley, released a statement per her reps saying, “Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Lisa Marie. They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”
