Apple has debuted new additions to the Apple Watch family: Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2. Both smartwatches are upgrades from last year’s models with improved specs, usability and features.
They’re both available for purchase at Amazon and Best Buy with prices starting at $399 for the entry-level Series 9 model.
Ahead, you’ll find the tech company’s newest Apple Watch models.
Apple Watch Series 9 (41mm) with GPS
The Apple Watch Series 9 (GPS only) — which starts at $399 — has a few upgrades and features that are not available from last year’s Series 8 model, namely a new “double tap” gesture for additional smartwatch controls. The new model also has a faster S9 processor (compared to the S8 chip), on-device Siri voice assistant, precision “Find My” device, a brighter display and more.
The Series 9 comes in a 45mm model, starting at $429. The models also come in Midnight, silver, pink and Product (Red) aluminum case varieties.
Apple Watch Series 9 (41mm) with GPS & Cellular
In addition, the Apple Watch Series 9 comes with cellular connectivity, if you don’t want to tether the smartwatch to an iPhone. It has the same features as the GPS only model, but can work independently without an Apple smartphone. It starts at $499 and comes in 41mm and 45mm options. The smartwatch is available in Midnight, silver, pink and Product (Red) aluminum cases too.
Apple Watch Ultra 2
For the outdoorsy types, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 — which is made with a titanium case — is the tech company’s rugged model. It’s made for serious athletes and adventurers with a long battery life of up to 36 hours and tough durability for outdoor activity tracking, like deep sea diving, trail running, mountain climbing and more.
For 2023, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 has a brighter display, a fast processor and more on-board storage than last year’s model, while it comes with the new “double tap” gesture for easier and handy controls. It starts at $799.
