Anthony Daniels Selling Star Wars C-3PO Memorabilia – The Hollywood Reporter

Anthony Daniels, the British actor who plays C-3PO in the Star Wars films, is set to sell his personal collection of costumes, props and scripts from the franchise.

The BBC reported Thursday, that Daniels is working with U.K. auctioneer Propstore to offer his Star Wars memorabilia. The collection includes the iconic gold C-3PO helmet the actor wore for 1977’s A New Hope, with an estimated sale price north of $1.22 million.

In all, nearly 200 items are up for sale at the auction. Other highlights include the scripts Daniels used during production — such as his hand-annotated dubbing scripts for The Empire Strikes Back — and even parts from the Millennium Falcon.

“I did rescue those pieces of the Millennium Falcon from a bonfire at the back of Elstree Studios after production finished on Return of the Jedi,” Daniels told the BBC.

“It feels like it is time,” the 77-year-old actor said, explaining why he’s selling his collection now. “I realized I had these items and they’re not unloved but they are unlooked at – we don’t have them crowding the sitting room.”

He added, “Will I feel sad to part with them? No. I will enjoy the fact people will cherish and display them.”

Daniels also revealed that he had the opportunity to add to his collection after production wrapped on 2019’s Rise of Skywalker, as he was told he could take items off the set, but he declined the opportunity as he had “enough” memorabilia already.

The Propstore auction ends on Sunday with items from the Daniels’ personal collection expected to be offered on Saturday.
