The Good Fight is returning for its sixth and final season on Sept. 8 and Paramount+ just released the first trailer featuring Andre Braugher in his series debut and Christine Baranski returning as Diane Lockhart.
Braugher stars as the lively attorney Ri’Chard Lane, a partner in the newly formed Reddick, Ri’Chard & Associates. In the trailer above, Ri’Chard arrives at Liz Reddick’s (Audra MacDonald) life like a high fashion whirlwind preaching about the importance of branding—a character that is miles removed from Braugher’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine character Raymond Holt.
Diane, no longer a partner at the firm, appears to be experiencing an existential crisis.
“I used to believe in progress; that we learned from our mistakes. But I feel like I’m back where I was 6 years ago,” Diane tells Dr. Lyle Bettencourt, played by another series newcomer, John Slattery. “No matter what we do, we just end up back at the star,” she added.
In another scene, Diane reveals to The Good Wife OG Eli Gold (Alan Cumming) that she finds her optimism in a new hallucinogenic drug.
Later, things appear to get steamy during a Zoom chat between Diane and her husband Kurt McVeigh (Gary Cole). Smiley, trippy, microdosing Season 4 Diane has entered the chat.
The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Scott Free Productions and King Size Productions. It is distributed worldwide by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
