Amanda Bynes seen for FIRST time since release from mental health facility after psychiatric hold

Amanda Bynes was pictured in public on Wednesday for the first time after checking out of a mental health facility after a three-week stay.

The 37-year-old actress was seen getting a manicure at an establishment in Toluca Lake, California as sources told Dailymail.com that ‘she has been advised to continue to distance herself from her’ former fiancé, Paul Michael.

The Thousand Oaks, California native was seen at Cosmo Nails, where eyewitnesses said she smoked a cigarette while waiting for an Uber after the manicure.

Bynes checked out of a mental health facility after a three-week stay Tuesday. She had reportedly worked with the facility’s staff to determine that she was ready to get back to her regular routines.

‘Amanda has left the medical facility on her own recognizance,’ a source told Dailymail.com Thursday. ‘She was very cooperative, participated in her recovery the staff supported her decision to leave as she had successfully completed the treatment program.’

The latest: Amanda Bynes, 37, was pictured in public on Wednesday for the first time after checking out of a mental health facility after a three-week stay. The actress was seen getting a manicure at an establishment in Toluca Lake, California

Bynes ‘has been advised to continue to distance herself from her ex’ Michael, the source said, adding that ‘her family and friends believe that her split was a catalyst in her breakdown and that he is not a healthy and safe person for her to be around.’

The source went on to say that the former pair ‘were codependent on each other, and the latter part of their relationship was toxic due, in part, to the fact that they met in rehab.

‘They substituted their addiction to substances for an addiction for each other.’

Now, Bynes will be entering an outpatient treatment program to make sure that she maintains the progress that she has made while being treated. She also get a sense of normalcy back, as she will reportedly go back to living in her own home.

Bynes had previously been under a conservatorship since 2013, but it was ended last year, so she will go back to having more freedom to make her own decisions.

TMZ previously reported that Bynes’ parents were not considering trying to set up another conservatorship, as she had been doing relatively well prior to her recent mental health crisis.

The original arrangement began in 2013, after she was involuntarily committed after multiple run-ins with the law starting a year earlier.

She had two hit-and-runs, as well as a DUI in 2012 and she was later arrested in 2013 for allegedly throwing a bong out of the window of her 36th-floor apartment in Manhattan.

Bynes was most recently hospitalized after reportedly wandering the streets of the Greater Los Angeles area for four days straight after her car was towed in Long Beach on March 15.

During that period, she was apparently in a manic state, and spent some time walking around naked.

Amanda had been reported to have been spotted walking in the nude on the day that she entered the treatment facility, but a witness told TMZ that the She’s The Man star had flagged down a car to get help.

She was apparently cognizant of her mental state, and she called 911 to report that she was coming out of a psychotic state and needed assistance.

After she was picked up, Bynes was initially put under a 72-hour psychiatric hold, which was initially extended while her team at the mental health facility devised a treatment plan for her.

Amid her mental health struggles, Bynes’ parents banned her ex-fiancé Paul Michael from having any contact with her after their four-year relationship came to an end in January of this year.

‘They do not want her ex-fiancé around her, and he has been instructed to have no contact with her,’ an insider told DailyMail.com on March 28.

‘He does not seem to have her best interests in mind and her family has nothing good to say about him.’

While speaking to the New York Post, he said: ‘She got off her meds, and she’s still off her meds… She’s wild.’

Michael previously claimed the two were now ‘friends.’

Bynes found fame as a child star at the age of 13 on Nickelodeon’s The Amanda Show, and went on to have success on shows such as All That and What I Like About You.

She was also appeared in films including She’s the Man, What a Girl Wants and Hairspray, with her last appearance in a motion picture coming in 2010’s Easy A.

Bynes latest crisis appears to be the reason she pulled out of a reunion with her All That cast at ’90s Con last month, which was originally attributed to an ‘unknown illness.’

She had previously expressed excitement about reconnecting with her castmates ahead of the convention.

She was set to be joined by SNL star Kenan Thompson, his Good Burger costar Kel Mitchell, Danny Tamberelli and Lori Beth Denberg, all of whom were fixtures of the popular Nickelodeon sketch comedy series.

The event would also have marked her first public appearance since her conservatorship was ended one year earlier. The series ran from 1994 to 2005 over 10 seasons, Bynes appeared on All That from 1996 to 2000. It was later revived in 2019.
