Forget Valentine’s Day, Singles Day is this weekend! For the uninitiated, Singles Day is a counter-holiday to Valentine’s Day where people who are single just spend quality time (and money) on themselves. The holiday lands on Nov. 11 every year because 11/11 looks like four individual people standing alone, as if they were single.
It’s one of the biggest shopping holidays in Asia and it’s coming to America, thanks to AliExpress. Similar to Amazon Prime, the online retailer has the “Alibaba Group’s 11.11 Global Shopping Festival,” which has deep discounts sitewide on self-care, beauty, tech, gaming, fashion and other shopping categories with savings up to a whopping 78% off list prices.
