Fincher has already worked with Netflix before, creating shows like House of Cards, Mindhunter, Mank, Love Death and Robots. But the 1995 mystery thriller we are talking about not only brought success to him but also to its powerful star cast. It would ring some bells if we say it had Brad Pitt in it. And now, Fincher is in talks with Netflix to have a series made out of it.

When David Fincher joined hands with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman, we got a timeless thriller that is still loved by fans all over, Se7en. According to Giant Freakin Robot, the director is set to recreate his all-time classic movie. Now Netflix has taken sources from books, cases, or games to make shows, but a series like Bates Motel is one of the rare examples of turning a movie into a series.

Se7en was an instant box office hit back in 1995. Along with Pitt and Freeman, it casts Kevin Spacey, John Mc Ginley, Gwyneth Paltrow, etc. The crime thriller was written by Andrew Walker and revolved around detectives finding one smart and vicious serial killer who apparently kills victims based on seven deadly sins like gluttony, lust, greed, and joy. The detectives must find him and stop, but not before decoding the reasons for his killings.

The movie ends on an unsettling note, giving the killer what he wants and becoming a prime example of Fincher’s work. Though it is confirmed that the series of the movie is in talks, what else is there to know about it?

What we know about the upcoming show so far

Adaptation of a cult-classic would certainly require Fincher to stay true to the source while not being repetitive. A movie tells the entire story in hours while a series needs to continue and keep fans looped in through episodes.
