If you have yet to start the delightful Abbott Elementary or have been meaning to catch up on Season 2, ’tis the season. Quinta Brunson’s Emmy-winning workplace mockumentary aired a winter finale so good it’s worthy of a top spot on your annual holiday episode rewatch list. We open with Janine (Brunson) and her colleagues celebrating the last day of school before winter break, and — in a twist — we’re blessed with a rare glimpse of Abbott After Dark. Aptly titled, “Holiday Hookah,” the episode shows Janine unexpectedly running into familiar faces at a hookah club, while Barbara (Sheryl Lee Ralph), Melissa (Lisa Ann Walter), Jacob (Chris Perfetti), and Mr. Johnson (William Stanford Davis) celebrate the season with a classy teacher lounge dinner. In the days leading up to the finale, the cast swore this was a must-watch episode. And they were right. With razor-sharp one-liners, standout Ava (Janelle James) scenes, and palpable sparks between our favorite slow-burn duo, your spirits will be jolly AF after indulging in this festive treat.
